Penille Andersen named Denmark's Country Representative for Counter-Terrorism Medicine Europe

Counter-Terrorism Medicine Europe (CTME) has expanded its regional leadership framework by appointing Penille Andersen as the new Danish Envoy. In this role, Penille will anchor CTM-E’s presence in Denmark, serving as the primary scientific liaison and communications conduit to facilitate cross-border research, operational knowledge exchange, and strategic alignment across the broader European network.

Penille brings dual-perspective operational background to the organisation, bridging frontline civilian trauma care with austere military medicine. A Registered Nurse who completed her clinical training in June 2026, she currently practices at the Emergency and Trauma Centre (Akut- og Traumecentret) at Aalborg University Hospital—one of the region’s premier high-volume receiving facilities.

Alongside her civilian clinical duties, Andersen serves as a certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) instructor, training personnel in point-of-injury care, haemorrhage control under fire, and tactical evacuation. This dual engagement has sharpened her focus on the critical friction points where pre-hospital tactical medicine meets hospital-based definitive trauma resuscitation.

Her core academic and clinical motivations lie at the vital intersection of civil-military interoperability, rapid trauma intervention, and mass casualty triage protocols during hostile, asymmetric incidents.
