The application process typically involves three steps:
Submission
Your organisation submits a formal expression of interest and an application package detailing its mission, relevant expertise, and proposed contribution to CTM-E's goals.
Review
The CTM-E Board reviews the application, assessing its strategic fit and alignment with the think-tank's mission in counter-terrorism and disaster medicine.
Approval & Onboarding
Upon approval, a formal Affiliation Agreement is signed, and your organisation is integrated into the relevant working groups and communication channels.

Currently, the annual membership fee required to be a CTME Affiliate Organisation is 80 EUR/ year. The entire sum will be invested in advancing research in the field of counter-terrorism medicine in Europe. CTM-E operates on a collaborative, non-profit model. However, organisations are typically expected to contribute in-kind resources (such as expert time, research support, or hosting facilities for working group meetings) to support the shared objectives and specific projects in which they participate.
-
We seek organisations actively engaged in areas relevant to the medical response to terrorism, disaster, or complex emergencies. This includes:
Academic Institutions (Universities, Research Centres)
Medical/Healthcare Providers (Hospitals, Emergency Medical Services)
Government/Public Safety Agencies (Civil Protection, Police, Military Medical Corps)
Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) focused on humanitarian or disaster response.
The critical requirement is a proven track record and expert capacity to contribute to research, training, or policy in this specialised field.
-
Commitment is flexible but is measured by active participation and contribution to CTM-E's output. Affiliates are expected to:
Designate a primary contact to serve as the liaison with CTM-E.
Actively participate in at least one relevant Working Group (e.g., Clinical Guidelines, CBRN Response, Education and Training).
Share relevant non-confidential expertise and resources to support agreed-upon CTM-E projects and deliverables.
-
Yes. An organisation can withdraw its Affiliate status at any time by providing written notice to the CTM-E Board. The withdrawal typically takes effect within 30 days of receiving the notice. Similarly, CTME reserves the right to review and terminate an affiliation if the organisation's activities diverge significantly from the think-tank's core mission or if the required level of contribution is not met.
