Frequently asked questions

  • Registered researchers gain secure and early access to our internal research datasets and proprietary analytical tools, before their public release. We provide clear frameworks and support for co-authoring and sharing among collaborating members, ensuring fair recognition for all contributions. CTM-E can always provide additional resources upon request, depending on the research project.

  • Researchers can submit proposals year-round through the Research Portal. Submissions undergoa rapid peer-review process by our Advisory Board. Projects aligned with our strategic pillars (e.g. pre-hospital management in mass casualty incidents) and demonstrating strong potential for translational impact are prioritised for funding and matched with interdisciplinary collaborators.

  • While currently CTM-E does not provide an Official Mentorship Program, pairing early- and mid-career researchers with global leaders in their fields represents a priority. CTM-E hosts exclusive workshops focused on research guidance, effective research communication to aid career advancement and research quality. CTM-E serves as a launching pad for innovative research projects in counter-terrorism medicine, providing international visibility.

  • Yes. CTM-E offers consultative support to our researchers. This assistance is particularly valuable for navigating complex international regulations, establishing agreements, and securing Organisational Board Review and Ethics Committee Approvals in diverse countries, regions or jurisdictions.

  • We bridge the gap between research and policy by hosting regular workshops (High Impact Meetings) where researchers present findings directly to policymakers, industry partners, and clinicians. We also assign Policy Liaisons to accepted projects, ensuring that key results are formally packaged and advocated for adoption by health authorities.

  • Research members are eligible to participate in elections and to serve on Standing Committees (e.g. grants review, strategic planning). These roles enable members to directly vote on funding priorities, evaluate internal performance metrics, and influence the long-term thematic focus of the CTM-E’s European research portfolio.
