Student membership is open to any individual currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or postgraduate program related to healthcare. This includes medical, nursing, paramedic, and pharmacy students, as well as those studying global health, emergency management, or forensic sciences.
-
Not at all. In fact, early exposure to the multidisciplinary nature of Counter-Terrorism Medicine is highly encouraged. CTM requires a shift in mindset from traditional clinical practice to "austere environment" thinking. Joining early allows you to build a foundational understanding of blast injuries, chemical threats, and psychological trauma before you enter clinical rotations.
-
Student members receive a curated suite of benefits designed to support academic and professional growth educational materials, networking, discounts, research opportunities and much more.
-
It is important to clarify that CTM-E is a medical professional organization and a think-tank focused on the consequences and mitigation of the medical effects of attacks. While we discuss tactical emergency medical support (TEMS), our primary focus for students is academic, clinical, and policy-oriented. We provide the knowledge base; we do not provide paramilitary or combat training. We do have an extended network of affiliate course providers certified to provide hyper-realistic and immersive high-threat scenarios training and courses.
-
Yes. Upon completion of your studies and receipt of your professional license or degree, you are eligible to transition to Full Professional Membership. We offer a "Bridge Year" discount for recent graduates to help maintain your connection to the community during your first year of residency or practice.
-
We actively encourage student contributions. Registered members can apply for our Student Working Groups, which assist senior fellows in literature reviews and data collection for ongoing CTM projects. You can also submit original commentary, projects, ideas or case summaries for our monthly newsletter.
