CTM-E visits City of London Police

Counter Terrorism Medicine Europe (CTM-E) recently observed a nationally standardised pre-hospital trauma care programme hosted by the City of London Police, reaffirming its commitment to advancing frontline research through clinical methodology.

CTM-E founder George Tataru and researcher and UK Representative Alex Grant attended the high-tempo training at the force’s central headquarters, where they observed instructors deliver the UK’s benchmarked medical curriculum for specialist police firearms officers.

The intensive program teaches tactical medicine and prepares armed officers to manage catastrophic haemorrhage, compromised airways, tension pneumothoraces, and complex ballistic or blast trauma under direct threat, while also requiring rapid clinical triage and intervention plus a tailored transition to conventional emergency medical services.
